Some Background
In Alberta, we currently have approximately 2200 graduates with an additional 1000 graduates having completed in other provinces.
In 1996 BSV Better SuperVision delivered it’s first supervisory program in Alberta. Since then we have grown to delivering in the order of fifteen programs per year in Alberta with additional programs being delivered through licensing arrangements in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland (see Partners/Links tab for contact information).
In 2004 a number of graduates, contractors, and owner/clients asked us to develop a supervisory mentoring learning program. This resulted in the creation of Leaders Building Leaders. Leaders Building Leaders has the overall learning objective of providing workplace coaching skills to senior field supervision. Application of Leaders Building Leaders skills with Foremen bridges classroom learning with real-world application of BSV Better SuperVision in the field. To date in Alberta there are approximately 300 people who have completed the Leaders Building Leaders program.
In 2005 BSV Better SuperVision received the Workforce Development Leadership Award from the Construction Owners Association of Alberta. Better SuperVision feels quite honoured to have received this prestigious award which recognizes the supervisory development programs offered by BSV Better SuperVision as a Best Practice in the construction industry. |
